Graeme this was awesome! Loved it. I dont know what was scarier, the creepy murder or the fact that no-one noticed it (can totally see that happening these days!).
I'm surprised he didn't die of sclerosis of the liver before he got back to the subway that final time. :)
Seriously, the character is very well developed. The outcome is intriguing. Why can he see his own future? Who pushed him, and why? It is the kind of story that lingers long after the reader has finished.
Interesting how you see it. The unwritten narrative is that Joel is fated to replace the victim and spend an eternity being pushed off the platform every day — he gets in the way and inadvertently takes the victim’s place. It’s not his own future.
Fascinating! But if Joel is fated to replace the original victim, then in a sense, he is seeing his own future.
And how can someone be fated to change something they’re seeing in the future? If it’s the, you know, future, doesn’t that mean it’s destined to happen? Interesting paradox possibilities.

Welcome!
This story had me hooked. The character of Joel, with all his flaws and sudden ability to see ghosts, was riveting.
Thanks Jennifer!
